Clinical Assessment Services

Practice Plus Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) provides Clinical Assessment Services (CAS) to support patients who need further clinical advice following contact with NHS 111. Our clinicians assess patients, provide treatment and advice, and make sure they are directed to the right care.

How it works

Patients are referred to CAS after an initial assessment through NHS 111. They are then contacted by a clinician, such as a GP, nurse or paramedic, who will:

• assess their condition
• provide medical advice or treatment
• arrange a prescription if needed
• refer or book them into the most appropriate service

This helps patients get the care they need without unnecessary delays.

• Devon
• South West London
• North West London
• Suffolk and North East Essex
• Surrey

Our people

Our CAS teams are made up of a range of healthcare professionals, including GPs, nurses, paramedics, dental nurses, pharmacists and mental health clinicians. Working together, they provide safe, timely care and support patients to access the right service for their needs.
